Matt Clifford

My career has moved from software developer through to technical architect and solution architect, and I've stayed hands-on throughout. I think that matters: understanding how systems are actually built makes for better architectural decisions, and means I can work directly with engineering teams rather than just handing down designs.

I work primarily in the Microsoft Azure and .NET space, building event-driven and microservice-based architectures. Domain-Driven Design is my main tool for translating business problems into clear technical direction. More recently I've been working in data engineering and exploring generative AI, specifically how inference-based architectures can be applied to practical business problems.
